Boys Neutral Nursery

Boys Neutral Nursery

Hello Lovelies hope Wednesday has been good to you,

After showing you all my fun scandi boys room photoshoot, and a sneaky peek into something new I posted on Instagram, I have been itching to show you some more images of this new photoshoot of a paired down boys nursery bedroom.

The concept behind this little shoot was to create a more neutral, soft and cozy Scandinavian inspired nursery with the opportunity to transition into a toddler’s bedroom keeping the same main furniture.

Again I tried not to follow a theme in this photoshoot but keep to a consistent color palette so everything ties in beautifully. I wanted to stick to fairly neutral colors (which could easily be adapted to a girl’s nursery) but also bring in warmth by adding natural color like beige alongside the grey's and white's. To add a cozier feel to the whole space I used layers through cushions, knit throws and the gorgeous knitted rug and faux fur hide.

One piece of furniture all mamas want to add to their nurseries is a feeding chair, so I went for a neutral chair to tie in with the other elements in the room like the throws and animal head décor on the wall.

Although I haven’t changed orientation of the furniture with the transition of the shoot, this is always an option if you have the space and we all know once they are out of nappies we no longer need a nappy changing station in their room. In saying this if you have the space in a spare room or in the family bathroom that would be a great option to move the nappy changing table into one of those rooms just like I did with Christie’s room when I did her mini room makeover and transition to a toddler bed. (Yes she is still in nappies; she’s only 2.5yrs old so we will toilet train in summer)

For the transition I kept the cot and took off the one side to transition into a toddler bed, if you are unsure if the kiddies will do without a rail you can always buy a small rail from target which fits on cots to queen/king beds also.

Again I chose the same color palate but made it a little more playful with a change of bedding, tying it all in with the décor in the whole room. This time I also added artwork for a big boy room look. Art work is an affordable way to change a space and I absolutely love animal artwork at the moment.

I’m really happy with the way this little shoot took shape and would probably do the same if I ever have a boy next.

Below are more images of the shoot along with the product list at the very end where you can shop the items. Hope you love it as much as I do, please leave your thoughts at the end in the comments section as I absolutely love your feedback.
