BABY SPRINKLE (BABY SHOWER)
After we found out we were having a little baby boy, even though I kept most of Christie's baby essentials and knew most of her newborn and 0-3 months clothes were basic, neutrals (white, grays) I still wanted to celebrate having a little boy in the family. It would be so nice to celebrate with loved ones and catch up with family and friends to celebrate the impending arrival of our new family member and just to have a fun day all together.
As we already had a huge baby shower for Christie, I didn’t want an over the top celebration this time, so I decided on a baby sprinkle, just to sprinkle the baby with some love and a few items we may have needed. This is also a great way for those who wanted to buy a special present after bubs was born as this way they will give you something you truly need.
A baby sprinkle is exactly like a baby shower but scaled down. When a mum to be is on her 2nd or even 4th baby then this is a nice way to celebrate with a more scaled down version. I find it lovely in all honesty and you get some great memories to look back on.
We invited only our immediate family and a few close family friends as a small get to get together. We also decide to play two games only as not everyone likes to play. We did measure the belly and what essentials are in baby's bag.
With the help of my mum, my vision of the day for the whole set up really came to life! Every little detail was perfect from the flowers from Bunch About Town to the grazing and desert table; this sure is another celebration to remember.
With Christie's baby shower I had a theme, but since then I’m not one to follow a specific theme so I wanted this to be a bit more effortless with a rustic chic look to it. I loved creating the grazing table with the lovely help of my cousin, who helped set it all up with me. My mum was a huge support in helping with all the supplies and getting everything organized and the entire baby sprinkle was held at her house which was a HUGE help in itself as my home has less space to organize tables and seating.
The Lovely Marcella from Bunch About Town flowers, created the utmost stunning effortless floral arrangements for the day, she was so lovely to work with and made my vision come to life. She and her hubby were so lovely to work with and setup the arrangements on the day. I highly recommend her even if you need a simple bouquet of flowers which are equally as gorgeous.
Lets not forget the amazing Lauren Skorsis who created the custom cake topper in the most gorgeous green color there could be.She has an amazing selection of colors to accommodate any style and will create your custom design for your special event.
I captured a few snaps before all our guests arrived and decided to enjoy the day and not make it a huge social event taking images all day long until I captured the perfect moment. After the event was over all family and friends simply sent through their snaps from their phones and those memories are much more cherished in my opinion. But if you want to enjoy the moment and still have gorgeous images for yourself I’d suggest hiring a photographer for the day.
